Meet the Hostess
Hi, I’m Emily- and I believe gathering is the best form of therapy.
I grew up in the house on the block with a revolving door of kiddos and parents popping in.
My mom made sure everyone who stepped into our home felt welcomed and well fed, even if it was a spontaneous visit from a friend. So naturally, I find joy in opening my home and inviting friends in. To me, hosting shouldn’t be overwhelming- it’s about creating a space where people feel seen, connected, and comfortable.
Through years of wedding planning (retired wedding planner here) hosting Friendsgiving’s, Easter dinners, craft nights, and football watch parties; I’ve learned how to make gatherings feel warm, welcoming, and of course, cute!
Whether it’s a last-minute dinner or a seasonal celebration, I’m passionate about helping busy hostesses build community through effortless gatherings.
I pray Balanced Hostess helps you gather with intention, grow your community, and bring you effortless joy.
Welcome- Don’t be a stranger!
My Favorite Tables
I briefly mentioned above that I was a wedding planner. This is where my love for table setting design started and grew! After 5 years in the industry here are 3 of my favorite table settings designs. As you can tell, I love color and hope to offer lots of hosting kits with unique color and textures.

FAQ
-
Multiple Reasons! For starters one of my personal goals is to be a more balanced person, enjoying my work day while also taking breaks to relax and enjoy time with family and friends.
Secondly, my goal for this business is to help YOU become a more balanced person by giving you the opportunity to walk away from work and welcome people into your space in a decorative way.

My goal is to thrift most of the items in my hosting kits! I believe in repurposing and finding unique items.
With this being said, when it comes to table linens and flatware, these can be hard to thrift as most do not meet quality standards. For some items I will likely source from stores like Pottery Barn, Anthropologie, West Elm, William Sonoma, or HomeGoods. Of course, I will snag a good piece when I find it but it needs to be clean.
Please always check the item description for a list of where I find the items in your hosting kits.

100% YES! I will always wash with soap and warm water before shipment. I do highly suggest:
1) cleaning your items before use!
2) hand washing all items! No dishwasher!
